Fire to the Bridge

Once upon a time, I burned a bridge.

It was supposed to force me to go find another path that led to an elsewhere that was presumably better.

What happened was I just wound up sitting beside the ruins, uselessly yanking up handfuls of grass and thinking about how the bridge might magically rebuild itself one day.

All that was the opposite of smart.

Is the lesson, do not burn your bridges just take a different path so if your should ever have to wander that way again you have the chance to take the old bridge or find another new path? We all burn a bridge or two along the way but hopefully we can build a new one or maybe use our awesome newfound powers of knowledge to leap over the other side and do what we got to do.
